History of Istanbul goes back to 2nd millenium BC but its fame started with Emperor Constantine as he declared the city as the new capital of empire. Afterwards, it was named Constantinople and it was embellished with beautiful structures during the Byzantine and Ottoman era.

Hagia Sophia

Hagia Sophia, the Church of Divine wisdom. It was a testament to the sophistication of the 6th Century. Especially The vast edifice was built over two earlier churches and inaugurated by Emperor Justinian in 537. So, The immense dome is an architectural marvel, as it seems to hover overhead.

Cappadocia Uchisar Castle

Uchisar Castle

Uchisar Castle is one of the tallest volcanic rock formation in the region. Especially back in the Roman era, it was carved like an ant nest and used as watch tower. On the way from Uchisar to Goreme, you will see the car parking area and view point.

Uchisar Castle view point is on the way from Uchisar to Goreme Village. Parking facilites are available.

Cappadocia Love Valley

Love Valley

Love Valley offers one of the most beautiful views of Cappadocia. Located between Avanos and Goreme road. There are huge, long mushroom looking fairy chimney formations in the valley and some of them are up 15 meters high. Also, The soil of the region is very rich in minerals, which makes it an ideal place for growing fruits and vegetables.

It is about 10 minutes away from Goreme, 15 minutes away from Uchisar or Avanos and 25 minutes away from Urgup by car.

Hagia Sophia

Blue Mosque

It was one of the largest chariot race grounds of the Byzantine Empire. Also, It had a capacity of 30thousand spectators and was like the main arena of Constantinople
